Dianne’s fine desserts introduces five new menu items that keep diners at the table and restaurant profits on the rise

NEWBURYPORT, MA, April 14, 2015 — Dianne’s Fine Desserts, a top provider of gourmet frozen thaw-and-serve desserts for the foodservice industry, has launched its Spring dessert line, targeting two key menu trends: nostalgic flavors and healthy ingredient desserts.

The trend to comfort foods and desserts has been on the upswing, pushed in part by events that have consumers seeking to recapture the profound memories and simplicity of earlier times. For operators, its an opportunity to get back-to-basics, highlighting quality ingredients and comforting flavor profiles. These new products from Dianne’s Fine Desserts include Malted Chocolate Milkshake Cake soaked in chocolate milk and topped with a chocolate malted mousse, Orange Dream Swirl Cake, orange flavored cheesecake layered with white chocolate cake and filled with vanilla bean orange mousse, and Chocolate Brookie Delight, a memory filled mash-up of chocolate chip cookie topped with chocolate brownie and finished with chocolate ganache.

New healthy-ingredient inspired desserts from Dianne’s include a Mountain Berry Tart, blackberries and raspberries atop a custard-filled crust and a Gluten-free Raspberry Almond Shortbread layered with raspberries and almond frangipane. Marketing director, Brian Wortham, says “Consumers are looking for desserts that meet their individual dietary preferences or restrictions, including more fruit and more gluten-free foods which according to the National Restaurant Association grew by 18% in 2014. This is just one of several gluten-free desserts in Dianne’s lineup”.
